- “We'd heard all the chatter. We’ve been beating up on the bottom of the league. All right. Well, we've now beaten two of the top teams in the league on the road.” Will Wade discussed NC State’s big win, Quadir Copeland's historic night and more 👇👇
- Quadir Copeland is fouled and misses both free throws. SMU gets the offensive rebound. Tre Holloman blocks the last shot and NC State wins it! FINAL: NC State 84, SMU 83
- SMU gets a 3-pointer to get the NC State lead down to three again at 84-81. Williams misses a jumper and SMU gets the rebound. Copeland is now up to seven points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists with zero turnovers in this one. But SMU has a chance to tie it with 31 seconds left to play.
- NC State is now 9-of-13 on 3-pointers in the second half after McNeil and Matt Able both hit 3-pointers to make it a 71-62 lead over SMU with 8:06 to play. Quadir Copeland has assisted on 12 of State's 14 triples and now has a career-high 14 assists! 🤯
- Ven-Allen Lubin gets a layup and Matt Able gets his first 3-pointer to make it a 61-60 lead with 10:51 left to play. This is the Wolfpack's first lead since it was 12-11 with 13:29 left in the first half. Oh, and Quadir Copeland and Paul McNeil Jr. are checking back in.
- Matt Able draws a foul and finishes the and-1, but before he's able to shoot the free throw, Sam Walters of SMU tries to walk through the NC State huddle and the two teams exchange words again. SMU gets a bucket to make it a four-point lead, but Walters is called for a foul on the next play.
- Quadir Copeland goes down and hurt his ankle. The play is stopped and Copeland tries to wave off the sub, but Wade brings him to the sidelines. He's tied a career-high with 11 assists in this game already.
- SMU leads NC State, 50-47, at the under-16 timeout. Tre Holloman with back-to-back triples, both assisted by Copeland. Holloman is now up to 11 points and Copeland has 10 assists -- already tying his season-high with 15:27 left to play. Eight of Copeland's dimes have come on 3-pointers.
- NC State still can't buy an offensive rebound in this one. SMU has rebounded 18 of NC State's 21 missed shots thus far with the Pack only hauling in two total offensive rebounds through the first 23 minutes of play. Quadir Copeland draws a foul and makes both free throws to make it a 47-41 SMU lead
- Lubin draws a foul and misses the first, but misses both free throws to keep SMU's lead at 46-39 with 18:31 left to play. The Wolfpack big man was 15-of-16 from the charity stripe in the last four games. He's 1-of-4 on free throws and 2-of-5 from the floor overall.
- Lubin continues to struggle to find any space under the basket with Yigitoglu defending him. The 7-foot-2 big man doesn't have a foul yet and has been dominant on defense thus far. Darrion Williams hits a triple then a jumper to give NC State a mini 5-0 run to make it a 42-34 lead for SMU.
- NC State misses back-to-back buckets and SMU gets an 8-0 run out of the break to take a 40-29 lead after a Boopie Miller triple. The Pack calls a timeout to regroup after missing seven out of its last shots to allow SMU to take a double-digit lead with 2:39 left in the first half.
- They have nothing to hide, though! 🫠
- Scottie Ebube checks in for the first time for NC State for the first time since the Boston College game on Jan. 6. On his second possession, he gets a steal to get the Pack out in transition, but Matt Able misses a three. SMU leads the Pack, 32-29, with 3:52 left in the first half.
- NC State finally gets an offensive rebound and Paul McNeil turns it over on an errant pass. That's his first turnover in ACC play after not having one in the first nine games. The Pack gets another offensive rebound on a putback from Musa Sagnia to make it 29-26. Less than five minutes left.
- Quadir Copeland knocks down a triple, but Jermaine O'Neal Jr. responds with a three of his own. Ven-Allen Lubin gets a layup for his fifth point to make the score 27-24 with 7:32 left in the first half.
- NC State is winning the rebounding battle overall at 13-12, but has zero offensive rebounds to this point. That, along with a 31.3 shooting percentage through the first 11 minutes of play, has the Mustangs up, 22-16, with 8:53 left to play.
- That's a flagrant 1 on Quadir Copeland? Sheesh. How was he supposed to know Yigitoglu went up with his back to him?
- Darrion Williams fouled hard by Boopie Miller and stays down on the ground before walking off under his own power. SMU leads NC State, 17-12, at the under-12 timeout with State missing eight of its last 10 shots while the Mustangs went on a 7-0 run.
- Boopie Miller and Tre Holloman getting into it after Holloman fouls him under the basket. The two smallest dudes on the court getting after it.
- SMU ties it up with at 7-7 a Corey Washington triple and NC State misses back-to-back threes with a chance to retake the lead. State has missed its last four shots in a 2:08 scoring drought.
- NC State starts off with a 7-2 lead after Ven-Allen Lubin draws an early foul on Jaron Pierre Jr. and hits one of his two free throws before Tre Holloman and Darrion Williams knock down consecutive triples. Quadir Copeland gets career assist No. 400 with his dish to Williams.

- Both defenses putting the clamps on since the media timeout, but Qadence Samuels knocks down a transition corner three to get the Pack up to a six-point lead at 20-14 at the end of the first quarter. Samuels is playing with a ton of energy in this one. She's up to a game-high 7 points & 4 rebounds.
- Khamil Pierre gets a tough bucket through contact and lets her defender hear about it. NC State takes a 15-12 lead with 4:01 left to play in the first quarter at the media timeout.
- Zam Jones knocks down the first 3-pointer of the game to give NC State its first lead at 13-12 with 4:45 left to play in the first quarter. Both teams are shooting 60 percent to start this one.
- The Tar Heels made their first five shots to take a 10-4 lead, but NC State has responded with a 6-0 run to tie it up with 5:45 left in the first quarter.
- Paul McNeil Jr. doesn't just have a green light -- his is "neon green." One year after scarcely earning minutes and an offseason of uncertainty, NC State's humble star is one of the most efficient offensive players in the country. ✍️: 247sports.com/college/nort...
- NC State has landed a commitment from Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park EDGE Damaad Lewis in the 2026 class. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound EDGE is an FSU decommit who ranks as the No. 20 player in the 2026 class in North Carolina. ✍️: 247sports.com/college/nort...
