Led a great primary source workshop with students today, most of whom have not interacted with Arabic works, but I got them to look at the 'squiggles' on the page and talk about formatting and genre even before we began to translate/analyze. Such a fun thing to realize you can play with any text.
You don't know it, but you know how to look at margins and spacing, print quality, fonts/hands, ornamentation or lack thereof, and language doesn't discriminate on any of those. Is book.
