I think maybe everyone should read Audre Lorde's essay Uses of the Erotic Even though she addresses women directly, I think any person of any gender might get something out of thinking about the erotic as a source of power and how divorcing feeling from sensation is what defines pornography

And just to be clear, she's not talking about sex but really anything that we deeply want and things that give us satisfaction and fulfillment
