- I was experimenting with using a microscope lens on Forge again, and made this image of a Basswood stem ~2.5mm in diameter consisting of 257 pictures all focus stacked then stitched together. I'm still working on getting this to be automated. #microscopy #softwaredev
- I love it when I make code that I'm confident in adding to my library of reusable code snippets. #Programming
- Found out that Windows has really crappy support for exif data on images. That had me really confused for a while on why it wasn't showing up in the image details.

- Got some cheap linear rails to upgrade Forge again, but they make this awful grinding sound. I'm gonna try cleaning them with IPA. If that doesn't work then I'll likely either have to get new ball bearings or new carriages.
- Reposted by ProcerandQuality performance art. Easy to parse, thematically relevant, kinda gross. Love it.
- This interview is very funny. www.thenation.com/article/soci...
- Commissioned @aroma031416.bsky.social to draw my character Rin. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

- Finally getting to the point in my tree core scanner where I have to redesign the GUI as it is getting too cluttered from having more features added over time. This is probably a good problem to have tbh. #softwaredev #dendrochonology

- Does anyone else use a capture card for working with raspberry pis? I feel like it's a great tool to have since it allows you to quickly switch between devices without having to worry about your desktop getting messed up. #raspberrypi #electronics
- Was thinking about finally making a portfolio website, but at the same time, I don't really want to start a new project.
- I hate that I'm most productive when I'm tired while staying up late. It's very different compared to the tired from waking up after not getting much sleep.

- Finally got around to working on my Lego sorter again for the first time in a long while. Got the sorting arms and part slides designed. Now I have to print 7 more to finish up this section. After this comes the imaging chamber. #Lego #Sorting #LegoSortingMachine #LegoSorting

- I told myself Forge would be ready to be put down like 5 features ago lol and now I have several major ones in the works. It's hard to put down a project once you get fixated on it. Especially once it gets to the point where you can start implementing cooler features. #softwaredev #programming
- Experimenting with using 3D printed registration marks and machine vision to find the middle of sample slots. So far it's going pretty well, soon I'll be able to incorporate this into Forge so manual calibration will no longer be needed. #automation #machinevision #python
- I dislike how during interviews my mind just blanks out. I had an interview today where I forgot what basic acronyms were for my field.

- Reposted by Procerandlast week i remembered that macOS lets you set your own icons and that *I* have the power to delegitimize the professionalism of the software that runs on my machine, so here's a thread of the 16 new icons i've made so far i really forgot how fun it was to just sit down and make art for myself :')

- At what point does an Ender 3 stop being an Ender 3? I've done so many upgrades/modifications that my 3D printer is no longer a 3D printer, with only a handful of the original parts remaining. Anyways, I completed the first version of my automated microscope. #3DPrinting #Ender3

- Got the 112mm test extension tube printed, resulting in a dpi of 80,835. Technically this is now a DIY automated microscope. I wonder how good it's gonna be once I get the full length tube printed. #microscopy #microscope #DIY
- Finally got the metallurgic objective and the lens I'll be using as a tube lens. Currently testing out 3D printed extension tubes. The current one is too short, but it worked for verifying the 3D print. While waiting for a longer one to print, I took this close up of the date on a penny.
- The number of hot pixels in my camera has risen quite sharply in the past month or so which means it is probably going to be dead soon :( I'm hoping I can finish the camera related changes in Forge before the camera finally dies.

- Decided to procrastinate on my game to develop a tool for determining if the Aurora is both overhead and visible. Right now, I have a 30 minute NOAA Aurora forecast visualization implemented, next up is bringing in the weather for determining visibility. #Aurora #NorthernLights #Alaska

- More off the shelf liquids should have expiration dates since most things start to break down after a few years.
- I finally got the networking for multiplayer into a state that I'm happy with for my game. Now I have to actually integrate it. Downside of using my own game engine is that this will require rewriting a lot of the core logic. On the bright side, my game doesn't have that many features yet. #gamedev
