- #vinyl #shoegaze 2026 LP5 Whitelands second album Sunlight Echoes just landed. There’s either a huge shoegaze revival at present, or it never went away. Either way this is another great album in that genre. I managed to score a nice signed green one from Pie & Vinyl.
- #Vinyl 2026 LP4 #electronica #trains Craven Faults - Sidings. Excellent semi-ambient electronica from Yorkshire on the Leaf Label. This is the orange vinyl from Bandcamp with very nice photo book and card.
- #Vinyl #Reggae #dub #SlyDunbar #RIP A sad goodbye to one of the greatest drummers and half of one if the greatest rhythm sections ever. Rest in peace Sly Dunbar.
- #vinyl We Don’t Need This Fascist Groove Thang.
- #vinyl 2026 LP3 PVA - No More Like This. Interesting synth-pop/industrial-ish kind of stuff. A step forward from the debut Blush IMO. Liking it so far. PS This is the ltd pre-order from their site, which in hindsight was a mistake as Resident have signed copies!
- First one of 2025 lands; Dry Cleaning’s Secret Love on “apricot” vinyl with signed photo. Actually quiet and flat! Rather good so far. No massive departure from the previous two albums, they are what they are, and it’s this. I’ll maybe try documenting everything new I buy this year.
- Introduce yourself with 5 concerts you've been to: T. Rex Kraftwerk Sonic Youth Karlheinz Stockhausen Half Man Half Biscuit
- pinkfishmedia.net is currently safer and more secure than ever before thanks to Cloudflare preventing everyone, including me, from visiting it!
- #VintageComputing YouTube delivers yet again: Boards Of Canada’s ‘Olson’ on a DEC PDP-1: youtu.be/wubkrBd3-gg?...
- #Vinyl This week’s fresh oddness from Brighton: The New Eves - The New Eve Is Rising. A hard one to categorise, kind of shambolic freak-folk meets The Slits via Amon Düül (I more than II). Certainly its own thing. As ever I can’t resist a signed copy on pre-order.
- #Vinyl Another one of those sad days. RIP Ozzy. Pleased I got to see the original line-up (1978, Liverpool Empire, I was still a school kid). An astonishing genre-defining band.
- #Vinyl New Wet Leg album Moisturiser landed, albeit a day late despite the comedically huge £6.15 postage charge. It is growing on me after a couple of plays. The “3d lenticular” cover of this edition is quite amusing; Rhian’s somewhat creepy expression changes depending on the viewing angle.
