No faster way to lose my business then have a subscription model where you lose things you paid for if cancelling. Canceled a language subscription on Preply. Subscribed for 8/month. Had 6 unscheduled that I’d already paid for but hadn’t booked due to busy work. Couple hundred bucks lost.
Jan 19, 2026 18:41I’m doing at a minimum 500/mo in private tutors to keep up with my language learning goals. Moving that all over to Italki and its per lesson model. 🤷♂️
It’s a bummer as I’ve been recommending them to fellow language learning nerds for 5+ years.
