But because of that, the remaining just over two months will be incredibly difficult and important. Fidesz will attack, incite, and threaten by any means necessary. But…game on!”

- Reposted by Josh ShererIt’s like Portugal’s leading conservatives have read the massive amount of political science research that shows cooperating with or mimicking the ultra-right empowers the ultra-right and destroys the conservatives.
- 🚨🚨Striking but welcome development in Portugese politics: To stop the explosive growth of the ultranationalist #Chega party, Portugal’s leading conservatives are doing the previously unthinkable: endorsing the center-left candidate for president. 🧵 www.politico.eu/article/port...

- Reposted by Josh ShererMy Trade Secrets today, in which it's fair to say I go off on one. The Labour party is famously "a moral crusade or it is nothing". On aid, immigration and trade they're going for the latter option, with betrayals of principle both repugnant and pointless. 1/n

- Reposted by Josh ShererSo just to clarify, Labour blocks a candidate who stood a good chance of winning because Starmer got scared, pretty much ignored that Reform are fielding a massive racist, and instead attack the Greens on a fairly popular policy idea. - “Suella Bravernan helped botch Brexit”. That’s the Labour line. Continuing to peddle the lie (that its own supporters know to be a lie) that Brexit was botched. It was a stupid idea, and Suella should be criticised for delivering it - not for botching it.

- Trump, getting his analysis from X, did not understand the objective of the NATO mission in Greenland. US and U.K. “online right” have very little comprehension of how successful the EU actually is. Economically, politically, diplomatically, culturally, and morally, the EU is a towering success.
