- Life Story specialist met with kidlet for first meeting. He had to say which animal he identified with himself (cheetah), his bio mum (deer because she’s shy) and me. I’m a BLOWFLY because I’m annoying and never go away. (I also have to deal with his shit)

- My son has a friend and his dad - who I never met before - staying with us for 10 days, immediately after the funeral. He goes to work. And - I kid you not - HE LEFT ME A SHOPPING LIST.

- Well, funeral service, cremation and wake are done! My aunt said it was the best eulogy she’s heard which, given I finished it at 530am, is a relief. I thought it was a mess. My sister also gave a eulogy which was funny and sweet and everyone played nicely. Got a migraine at the wake & went home
- How long should a eulogy be? Pulled an all nighter (it’s 5am to finish the slide show and speech). No time to edit. Hope it’s okay and not too rambling. How many minutes do you get to sum up a life?

- 3 days until funeral and people keep telling me to take some time for myself. What?! Then who is going to do everything?
- Last night, got into bed exhausted. Look up. A huntsman spider bigger than my hand. Last time I killed one (and I hate killing them) it crawled up and died under my sheets. This time I slept on the couch. You won buddy.
