- Got to love Scars of Dracula (Ward Baker, 1970). Terrifically bad in places and yet so much fun Highlight was Dennis Waterman barging the door down and smashing Jenny Henley’s bowl of poisoned broth to pieces by throwing a rock at it rather than just taking it out of her hands 🤣

Wodelouse317 years ago today, after being stuck there for four years and four months, Alexander Selkirk was rescued from Más a Tierra – now known as Robinson Crusoe Island, because he inspired Defoe’s novel. The book, though, omits to mention one of the ways he passed his time: by fucking goats 🧵

If you're one of those interesting small presses that sometimes publishes collections of weird fiction and you might be interested in publishing mine, do let me know.
- Between them ‘Municipal Gothic’ and ‘Intervals of Darkness’ have 27 stories full of haunted buildings, haunted people, and working class weirdness. Obviously *I* think they're great – but so do strangers who owe me nothing! 👉 www.amazon.co.uk/Municipal-Go... 👉 www.amazon.co.uk/Intervals-Da...

- Felt uneasy about one of the stories in my collection so decided this morning to (and this is unheard of for me) write a new one loosely based on an older idea in the space of a day. And do you know what, I did. Very happy with the story too… though we’ll see if I feel the same about it tomorrow
