- Today is #TimeToTalk Day. A reminder that even a simple conversation about mental health can help break down stigma and make a real difference. If you or someone you care about needs support, please visit mind.org.uk/TimeToTalkDay
- This week, I received 30 brilliant "Posters for the Planet" from pupils at Norton Primary School! 🌍 So many thoughtful ideas, big questions, and powerful messages about protecting our planet. I’ve just finished writing back to every pupil. Inspiring stuff.

- No family should have to choose between being at their child’s bedside and affording the journey. A new £10m fund will cover travel costs for children and young people with cancer, as part of Labour’s National Cancer Plan. 👇 www.gov.uk/government/n...
- Here's a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament! 👇
- Even in the middle of London, wildlife finds a way. A good reminder that nature is all around us if we take a moment to look!
- If you haven’t already, please consider taking a moment to complete my short survey on potholes across Bury St Edmunds & Stowmarket. Your experiences help strengthen the case for action and accountability. Click below to access the survey. 👇 www.peterprinsley.org/pothole-survey
- On Saturday, I was honoured to attend the enthronement of the Rt Revd Dr Joanne Grenfell at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. A moving service and a warm welcome for Suffolk’s new Bishop. suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmu...
- Today in Bury St Edmunds, I was honoured to speak at the Holocaust Memorial Day service at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. We remembered the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and all victims of genocide. Remembrance matters - it’s our shared responsibility to carry it forward.
- Ending the cancer postcode lottery matters. Where you live shouldn’t decide how quickly you see a specialist. More doctors, better tech and earlier diagnosis will save lives and tackle health inequalities. This is a vital step forward. www.gov.uk/government/n...
- Here's a brief overview of some of the things I have been doing this week across the constituency and in Parliament! 👇
- Welcome news from publicly owned Greater Anglia: more frequent services and extra intercity stops at Stowmarket! 🚆 www.eadt.co.uk/news/2579128...
- 457 British service personnel died in Afghanistan. To dismiss their sacrifice is wrong and deeply disrespectful. Our troops stood shoulder to shoulder with allies on the frontline. Donald Trump should apologise immediately. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
- Thinking of everyone in Beyton today as they said goodbye to Barry Waterman. For over 40 years, Barry and Jane made The White Horse a true community hub. A life clearly well lived, and a man clearly well loved. www.suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmu...
- This morning, I highlighted the courage of NHS staff working in Gaza and the urgent need for humanitarian access. Protecting civilians and restoring aid isn’t optional - it’s essential if any fragile peace is to survive.
- In Parliament, I highlighted the deep and enduring bonds between the peoples of the UK and the United States. Even when disagreements arise, those ties of friendship and kinship should guide us towards diplomacy and constructive dialogue.
- Did anyone else spot the aurora borealis last night? ✨ An incredible surprise to see the northern lights so close to home. If you managed to capture it, please share your photos in the comments - I'd love to see them!
- Labour is turning the NHS around. Waiting lists are down by over 312,000 since the General Election. Locally, at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, waits have fallen by 2,272. Record investment and real reform are delivering results.
- Great news for Howard Community Academy! National recognition for putting pupil wellbeing at the heart of school life - a real credit to the staff, pupils and families, and a brilliant example of children being supported to thrive. suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmu...
- Different badge. Same people. Vote Reform, get Tories.
- Potholes remain one of the biggest frustrations for drivers across Bury St Edmunds & Stowmarket. I want to hear your views - please take a moment to complete my short survey: www.peterprinsley.org/pothole-survey

- Lovely to see pupils from Priory and Riverwalk Schools building bug hotels at Sicklesmere Road allotments! 🌱 A great example of young people in Bury St Edmunds learning about nature, biodiversity and community. suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmu...
- Events in Iran remind us yet again of the vital importance of the BBC World Service. With a near total internet blackout the only reliable, verified news from Iran reaches us, and Iranians themselves, via the BBC... 🧵 1/7
- This isn’t about censorship. It’s about protecting people from abuse. Non-consensual sexual deepfakes are unacceptable, and platforms must be held to account. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
- Tonight’s cold weather, with sub-zero temperatures, poses serious risks to people sleeping rough. If you see someone on the streets, please use StreetLink to send an alert to local support services. A small action can make a vital difference. 👇 thestreetlink.org.uk
- Delighted that the long-awaited footbridge with lifts at Stowmarket station is now in place and close to being open. But progress can’t stop there. Too many people are still forced to cross busy tracks on the Ipswich–Cambridge line, including at Thurston. Rail safety must come first.
- The Leader of the House of Commons has now advised that the idea of carrying the bill to the next session is not possible, so I urge the Lords to enact the will of the elected chamber. That is the constitutional convention. 👇 www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...
- Come along to my Meet Your MP event this coming Thursday in Bury St Edmunds - a chance to share your views, raise local issues, and hear about the work I’ve been doing for Bury St Edmunds & Stowmarket. Full details can be found below 👇
- A brilliant achievement by Bradley Farthing-Kiff of Elmswell, completing over one million steps for Diabetes UK. An inspiring example of determination and resilience! 👏 suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmu...
- During PMQs yesterday, Nigel Farage, a party leader, chose radio interviews over Parliament. Do media appearances matter more to him than accountability?
- Very sad to hear of the passing of Jim Grant, aged 101, of Stowmarket. A D-Day veteran who served with courage and distinction. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and shipmates. Rest easy, Jim. Your watch is complete. suffolknews.co.uk/stowmarket/r...
- The BBC Charter Review public consultation is now open. This is your chance to have a say on the BBC’s mission, governance, services and funding ahead of the next Charter period. I’d encourage people to take part and help shape the future of the BBC. 👇 dcms.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...
- International rules matter so there are legitimate questions about the US’s actions in Venezuela and their potential consequences. Our government’s first responsibility is and should always be the UK’s national interest.
- Cold Weather Payments have now been triggered in parts of Bury St Edmunds & Stowmarket. ❄️ If you’re eligible, you’ll receive £25 automatically for each 7-day period of freezing weather - there’s no need to apply. Find out more by visiting the following webpage: www.gov.uk/cold-weather...
- We’ve seen snow fall overnight and many roads remain snowy and icy. Please take extra care if travelling this morning, allow more time for journeys, and check on neighbours who may need support. Stay safe. More information from the Met Office: weather.metoffice.gov.uk/forecast
- Would definitely recommend the new David Attenborough programme ‘Wild London’ on BBC iPlayer. A real treat, including a lovely clip of David Attenborough helping to ring one of our parliamentary peregrine chicks! www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002hzg7
- Congratulations to everyone recognised in the King’s New Year's Honours! A special shout-out to Rory Wallace in Bury St Edmunds for his services to the steel industry and to Dr Nikos Savvas of the Eastern Education Group for his services to education. www.eadt.co.uk/news/2572696...
