Game reviews, features, and more.
- Just came across this amazing write up and looks like an amazing game!
- Roguelike deckbuilders are often variations of “number go up” but Dogpile deemphasizes that aspect in favor of “dog get big”. The result is worth your attention. Dogpile is different because it wants you to win. It manages to be easy while still being interesting. pentopixels.com/article/dogp...

- Been playing this game for 20-30 minutes at a time, often right before bed, and it's been so nice and fun. Janet nails it here--every time I play it, I can SEE the possibility in every build and strategy and it's not disheartening the way RNG in roguelikes can be.

- The part about finishing for analysis nails how I often feel. It's rare that a game entirely changes my feelings at the ending, but it's often a vital payoff.
- December is often about getting to the industry's most hyped games and beloved hidden gems, but this year I didn't want to lose myself amidst all the releases and recommendations. Here's My Pursuit to Finish the Games I Claim to Love. pentopixels.com/article/fini...

- Possibly one of the best write ups about the events this past weekend. Janet never misses.

- Comforting level design choices, a lovely and narratively insightful soundtrack, and a compelling story make South of Midnight an experience worth having despite its repetitive nature and lackluster combat. Our review: pentopixels.com/article/sout...
- I am almost done playing this with my wife. I largely agree with everything you said here. I turned on the option to skip combat when i learned you could do that and have skipped every fight since the tutorial except against bosses because it was pretty boring. Otherwise love the game. Great review

- Yeah, the combat made me go "ugh!" every single time I saw a new arena in the back half of the game. I almost felt that with the crouton bits too. The music is magnificent though. Not just the songs (although that Benjy one was kinda embarrassing) Yeah, it's very PS2-y (complimentary)
