GTA3 was the one for me. I loved 2 on Dreamcast and was hyped for 3 and it felt absolutely impossible at the time. As far as "wow" factor goes, I can't think of a game that astounded me as much as GTA3. I played that game so much that my PS2 stopped reading the disc.
