Amateur/enthusiast photographer located in Bergen, Norway. Mostly.
- This winter has been unusual in the sense that there has been consistent cold temperatures and less precipitation than normally. But some good photo opportunities. Have a good Wednesday 😊! PS. I will probably bother you with more photos from that hike 🙄.
- Here in Bergen, Norway, January has been quite unusualT.emperatures normally lingers around 1,7 degrees, Jan - 26 they've been well below zero. Precipitation has been around 230-250 mm, we've hardly had any this year. So photo opportunities have been different as well. Here are three illustrations.
- Some shots from a skihike at Filefjell, Norway last weekend. It was cold and calm, and clouds had been lingering during the morning and first part of the day, but in the afternoon they started to clear, leaving a haze. Which made for some nice photos I think. Enjoy your Wednesday 😊!
- Sunrise at Filefjell, Norway last Saturday morning. Have a real good and not too cold Tuesday!
- From a walk last weekend when I thought there wasn't much to photograph. But made some pictures anyway, and in a black and white version they came out not so bad
- A visit from Aurora. HDR images processed in LR and PS with Lumenzia and WSP
- In the most recent issue of The Photowalk podcast, I believe Neale James described being able to approach strangers for a photo as a gift. To some of us that sounds like a dread. So much safer to photograph someone you know. In this case it's Sofie, my youngest daughter and companion on many hikes.
- Part two of our small expedition during sunset hours at Filefjell (Norway). It was quite cold, around 20 below zero, but no wind. And the light just getting better. Don't think we could have asked for a better couple of hours spent.
- First batch of photos starting the new year
- Good morning from Bergen, Norway
- Jan 3d, so it's just fitting to post another three photos (I know, not funny). These are also part of the early start of the photographic year. Made during a walk in the vicinity of where we live. Got a few more to postprocess, and hopefully many more to capture.
- I think it's a good thing to start the photographic year on the first day. Might not be a strong start, but a start nevertheless. So when I did walk with Mira the Eurasian today, I of course brought my camera.
- December has been, well, like December usually is here in Bergen, Norway - gray and dark. Yesterday provided a hope of a glimpse of light. So I headed to a couple of vantage points as the sun was about to set. And got lucky 😊.
- Winter solstice, Bergen, Norway (yesterday) Short video of the hike up and down Mount Ulriken: youtu.be/xwWitAusfR8?...
- The one three still standing
- Thought I'd share this image. Nothing spectacular, not even particularly good, maybe a decent shot. Just a detail from one of the ponds in vicinity of where I live. But I liked the light and the composition. Probably leaves a lot to be desired, but here you go anyway 😊
- Couldn't decide which version I preferred. So here's both. Skoersnoese is a mountain I've visited many times. Photo was made a couple of weeks back, and during these December days when days are literally dark all day, it brightens up the day a bit to have such photos and memories to look back at.
- Sunset. The faint glow behind the old three as the sun sets provided an opportunity not to be missed. The culmination of an otherwise quite ordinary walk around the neighbourhood so to speak.
- Foggy day. We don't get fog that often here in Bergen, Norway. We're more into the relentless rain. But every now and then conditions are favourable. Then you just might get lucky with the light as well.
- Illustrating my December mood. Even if photos were made in November. So far December had been mostly gray and rainy. Frantiqually playing Christmas songs on the radio and eating Christmas cookies haven't done much for the mood. Think I need to go to the mountains for some snow and cold weather.
- Autumn. Depending on where you reside in the world, it's autumn or some other season. In Western Norway we're leaving autumn behind and heading into winter now. So (maybe) one last photo from this autumn.
- Tomorrow is the first Sunday of advent. So today is the first Saturday of advent... obviously... So why not share a couple of street photos displaying the advent mood in and around our local shopping mall Lagunen (the Lagoon). What a lagoon has to do with shopping I have no idea.
- A small series I made during a recent photowalk in the vicinity of where live. They might give the impression of somewhere a bit remote and far from more urban areas, but in truth that's just down to composition and paying attention to the surroundings so as not to include manmade objects.
- Monday morning here in Bergen, Norwayland. Why not start the day with a photo of a bracket fungus. Nothing special really, just something that caught my eye whilst out wandering in our local woods. Thought it worth a photo. Have a good Monday everyone 🙂.
- A collection of waterfall photos I made during a combined photowalk and dog walk in our local Kanadaskogen - "the Canadian Forrest" - a week ago. Name so I believe by some boys many many years ago, playing in said forrest and pregending to be in - yes, you're correct, in Canada.
- Autumn. Just couldn't pass these leafs by. The one green, the other orangy-brown, expressing the progression of autumn in nature.
- View from Livarden, Bergen, Norway.
- Details of autumn, nature going to sleep. Looking for the smaller things can pay off when conditions aren't adventageous for the bigger pictures.
- I tend to forget my options when out making photos. But yesterday I did remember. Never mind bad light, ICM is an option. So I made these four photos utilizing the ICM technique.
- Been itching to get out for some photography. But November in Western Norway can be a challenge photographywise. To me at least. So the last two days (weekend) I forced myself out there and made some pictures. Here's one I came away with. I think there are more to come.
- A bit of architecture in Alcúdia, Mallorca. The harsh daylight and the white structure with its distinct shape made for a nice black and white photo I think.
- A couple more shots of the sunrise at Alcúdia, Mallorca a couple of weeks back. Must admit I'm a bit of a sucker for sunrises, even if they're easy targets in a way. But hey, they're there to be photographed, right?
- Every summer I like to do a hike from Øye in Vang, through Rødalen over the mountains to Tyinkrysset. About 18 km, reasonably good trail all the way. And once passing the last cabin you get this nice view of the valley you just passed through. This photo was made during this years hike.
- The seemingly most unintersting scene might require just a little bit of editing to become.. well, art? Like a sailingboat in the distance in broad daylight and no particularly interesting surroundings. Convert to black and white and work a bit on the light and the sea surface, and here's the result
- Tried my hand at some black and white, minimalistic long exposure during our stay at Alcúdia, Mallorca. Shot in the middle of the day with a 10 stop filter. Rather pleased with the result.
- Clouds over mountains. Nature's beauty. Jotunheim.
- Water flows, bikes parked, Amsterdam shines
- Seasons change, winter soon, mountains beckoning
- Golden morning, memories made, life's purpose
- Dandelion delight, summer spent, autumn now
- Morning light, promises made, day delivered. (a six word story as context, probably ruined by this explanation)
- I suppose the number of photos of yesterday's lunar ecluos/bloodmoon flooding the Internet is infinite. But given it will be another three years and three months until we get the chance to see one again here in Bergen, Norway, I made my contribution as well. And here it is.
- Waterfall in Skakadalen, Vang in Valdres, Norway.
- Not sure if these photos qualify as street, but at least they're urban. Amsterdam, the metro and outside van Gogh Museum. I liked the reflection in the big cube and thought it presented even better with the surroundings in black and white. And the metro map as a face - well that speaks for itself.
- One of the last things I did this summer was hiking up to the summit of Store Soleibotntind in Jotunheimen. A little bit of scrambling involved as well. At 2083 m a s you get quite a good view of the surroundings, weather permitting. It did, as I hope the photos show.
- My local favourite waterfall near Tyinkrysset, Norwayland, not far from our cabin. I often return to this spot to photograph it. This is a longexposure of 1/5 of a second, handheld.
- Last batch of photos from the Redbull Wake the City challenge. I think I had more fun shooting than watching. Probably because I was more focused on the shooting 😅. Still nice though both to watch and get some action style photos
- Sometimes photos work best in portrait orientation, sometimes in landscape. I'm not quite sure what is the deciding factor for the one or the other. Mostly I just choose what I like 😊. Here's another set of photos from the Redbull Wake the City challenge last weekend here in Bergen.
