You look at a shelf of manga and there are all the books in a series. You pick the series you like and even one book is a big chunky read and it you fancy two different series. That’s fine! Two different worlds no connection. Great. But you look at the marvel/dc section of hmv and you have no idea
Where the start point is. Look! A deadpool book. But which do you start with? Wolverine! Hang on does that happen after the xmen? Doom! Wait isn’t he fantastic four?
I don’t have an answer.
But it feels like us superhero comics which are the only thing that can compete on content/quantity and price has no simple way to track which volumes to read compared to say 2000ads judge Dredd case files-where you can go volume 1 onwards and have a chunky read and read it in order.
