- Reposted by Patrick WallsThis decision puts even more pressure on plaintiffs and district courts outside the 5th Circuit. Unless the habeas is filed before a person is transferred to the 5th Circuit, a person may remain locked in appalling conditions, never even allowed to ask for bond.

- Reposted by Patrick WallsAWFUL news tonight. This blesses the “mandatory” detention in the 5th Circuit without bond (and little chance at habeas) of every undocumented immigrant who originally entered across the border, no matter how many decades in the past. It will fuel ICE’s push to transfer people to Texas immediately.
- BREAKING: A 5th Circuit panel has backed ICE's mass detention policy, a decision that clears the way for the administration to lock up people who are in immigration proceedings It's a 2-1 ruling Majority: Jones (Reagan), Duncan (Trump) Minority: Douglas (Obama) s3.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

- Reposted by Patrick WallsBlumenthal: ICE and CBP are out of control. The practices of this agency have to be completely overhauled. It’s like a corporation in bankruptcy—either dissolved or reorganized. They’re morally bankrupt, legally bankrupt, and politically bankrupt.

- Reposted by Patrick WallsI sincerely hope that JD Vance gets this reaction every single place he goes.
- Reposted by Patrick WallsNeither the President nor Vice President of the United States can make a public appearance in front of a non-partisan crowd either in America or abroad without being booed.

- Reposted by Patrick WallsJust heard back from DHS on why they abruptly expedited Ramos' asylum hearing: “These are regular removal proceedings. This is standard procedure and there is nothing retaliatory about enforcing the nation’s immigration laws. He will receive full due process." (This is not standard procedure.)
- Reposted by Patrick WallsRamos' parents, originally from Ecuador, were set for their asylum hearing in late Feb. DHS abruptly moved it up to THIS MORNING. They are not in the U.S. illegally and have no criminal record. DHS is simply trying to end their asylum claims.
- Reposted by Patrick WallsHAPPENING NOW: DHS just expedited Liam Conejo Ramos' asylum hearing to this morning, meaning it's possible the five-year-old and his family could be deported as soon as today. - Reposted by Patrick WallsI think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
- “If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

- Reposted by Patrick WallsThis should also include a GAO audit of DHS, particularly ICE, CBP, the office of the secretary, and the funds provided in the OBBA. How has/is the money being spent, how effective is it, where are there patterns of waste, fraud, & abuse. Congress controls the GAO. Let's go!

- Reposted by Patrick WallsThis isn't abolition, but this includes a lot of good demands. Prohibiting Kavanaugh stops that the Court expressly allowed, requiring state consent for large operations, allowing states to sue DHS for any violations (!) Oh, and removing Kristi Noem.
- Reposted by Patrick WallsWorth noting that Demand 5 is an end to Kavanaugh Stops
- Reposted by Patrick Wallsin real terms, #7 would give states leverage to put an end to surges, #8 would give states the ability to outright stop construction of new detention facilities, #1 and #6 would slow the rate at which DHS could train and deploy officers, #2 and #10 would likely shrink the pool of recruits

- Reposted by Patrick WallsStriking: GOP Senator Roger Wicker just came out strongly against new ICE detention center in Mississippi. The story of the moment is brewing opposition in red areas (see piece and thread below)
- Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed. Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/ (new piece) newrepublic.com/article/2060...
- Reposted by Patrick WallsNot enough. Every single ICE and CBP agent should be out of Minnesota. The terror campaign must stop. ICE must be abolished.

- Reposted by Patrick WallsIn a sane world, the decision by Rufo, Vance, & co. to slander and slap a target on the traumatized, hardworking immigrants who revitalized a rust belt city -- and who *were invited* to that city -- would be a stain on their careers that they never live down. They should be reminded of it. Often.
