- Bollocks. The independent bookshop on Smithdown Road, Dead Ink, is closing. Quite apart from that being shitty news in and of itself, it also means that almost certainly another convenience store will move in there, as they have done for every shop that's closed in the last five years.
- If you want extremely (and I mean *extremely*) specific trivia about one particular author, I’ve got you covered.

- I spend a lot of time dodging and avoiding GenAI in all the software I use for work, and in the messages and approaches of the organisation I work for (higher education). I don't need it 'officially' encroaching through other channels as well in my day to day life.
- We're having the damp-proofing sorted in the front of the house next week, which means of course I am now unable to think about anything except moving the furniture, prepping the space, getting stuff sorted...
- This art is by my partner, this XTC listening party concept is by her sister!
- DID YOU KNOW: My band, Good Grief, once contributed a song to a Guided By Voices tribute record, where we stuck together two 'food themed' pop bangers? bertdax.bandcamp.com/track/doughn...
- I'm on the lookout for a copy of the SOUTH BANK SHOW dated 6th May 1984 (s7e17) about ED MCBAIN. I've not been able to find it anywhere - the archive at Leeds Uni has a non-digitised film copy, so that doesn't help. There's a 3 min clip on Youtube that the director shared. Any help appreciated!
