Republican voters don’t have to plead with their elected leaders to do what they want as much as Democrats do

The only reasonable explanation is that many Democratic politicians do not have the same goals as their voters.
Well sure. Republican voters have representatives who share a similar world view. Dem voters haven't had that in decades, just some folks who talk a good game while sliding the Overton further right.
And yet democratic leaders are more worried about courting Republican voters. I guess when your whole platform is “we aren’t them” you set the expectation with your base that their needs will never truly be met. Want healthcare? Best we can do is a heritage foundation health plan.
Which is wild considering our requests are along the lines of "please give us healthcare and maybe stop shooting people in the back" while theirs are "please destroy all the people I don't like, and also destroy everything else while you're at it"
