Resting Disgust Face Josh
He/Him. Living through more history than I’d like, thanks.

- Illinois introduces bill that would bar ICE agents hired in Trump’s second term from becoming Illinois law enforcement any time in the present or future.

- I don't go to bat for Jeffries or Schumer often, but too many people yell at them when what they're actually mad about is the fact Donald Trump is president, & it shows badly in the comments here

- Every time I re-read Trump v. United States, it feels like getting hit in the head with a mallet.
- this case is maybe the single best example of one of the most destructive tendencies of this court: the tendency to treat their job as a collegiate legal seminar where they operate in hypotheticals rather than deal with the real world as it exists

- if you took my advice last year and bought used leather pants, wore those leather pants, and then resold them on eBay, you would have made more money than if you invested in bitcoin
- Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

- 1. It was not an accident. 2. It was not a staffer. 3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia. 4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares. 5. His base agrees with him. 6. He will do it again. 7. No one in power will hold him accountable.
- Once again, it turns out “fully autonomous” means “a guy in the Philippines.”

- every dem should immediately shift to the obamas-as-apes video trump posted, because it is instantly recognizable to normies are insanely racist and opens up numerous lines of questioning
- Yeah, this feels right. This is no great insight on my part; if you'd described this yesterday to me I'd have said "nah, come on. This is par for the course. Condemn it obviously but it's not gonna land." But seeing the response so far? Yeah, go with it. I saw it on Facebook. It's out of containment
- Insanely dangerous to Trump if normies start to notice the crap he posts on Troot Social

- Three thoughts. 1. It’s always been about the white nationalism 2. He is returning to the old favorites because his support is waning 3. He dabbled with this trope before but would always leave a hair of deniability. Going straight there also seems like a sign of weakness
- It is noteworthy. I guess the black people as monkeys thing is such a notorious trope it breaks though as more blatant and undeniable, there's no hedging the racism label with "apparently" or "critics say." But it's hardly out of character for the level of overt racism he expresses all the time.
- I don’t know if this counts as a watershed moment or whatever but it is significant that even the NYT has to drop the pretense and call it what it is. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/06/u...
- Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

- I have no surprise left to summon that Donald Trump felt no moral restraint when posting vile, juvenile and hideously racist imagery of President Obama and his wife. I am, however, astonished that it remains up to this moment and the White House is even attempting to defend itself.
