Nigel Farage is going to "save pubs" by cutting 5p off the price of a pint of beer...
The £3 billion cost will be funded by reinstating the two-child benefit limit.
This might be the worst policy anyone has ever come up with.

Nigel Farage announces plans to slash vital benefit to fund 5p cheaper pints
Nigel Farage's party had promised to back scrapping the two-child benefit limit, but now Reform intends to funnel the support to the most vulnerable into slashing prices in pubs
Feb 4, 2026 08:03Smokers get £75 a week 'benefit'.
What... Since Rishi suggested that he could bring back National Service while actively campaigning for a General Election in 2024. Surely that one deserves a mention?
His Brexit numbers were bullshit as well.
He is just a pound shop Trump.
Promise everything, fail.
Make the super wealthy richer.
Lie about it.
Blame everyone else.
While being racist the whole time.
He will also implement lowering minimum wage - just to help the likes of Tim Martin survive you know (even though he’s just announced he’s opening more pubs…)
Actually he doesn't give a toss. He could have voted for/against the 2 child cap but didn't bother to turn up for the Commons vote yesterday.
How can anyone take Farage seriously?
It’s truly baffling
Taking benefits off poor families with three or more children in order to enable ReformUK voters to drink more beer? I‘d wager that this policy would be very successful “down the pub” where Farage recruits his voters. And - don’t forget - the very poor rarely vote.
Give it time, Farage will come up with worse.
And for his next major policy announcement, Farage will tell us that he plans to scrap Great Ormond Street and Alder Hey hospitals so he can very slightly reduce the price of cigarettes…
is that the same Nigel Farage who said he would remove the 2 child benefit cap to make it easier for families to have children?
He’s literally going to take from the bottom two needs of children to give some people 5p off a bloody pint!
It will take more than 5 pence off a pint of beer to save pubs. Unfortunately it is a trade on its knees due to many other circumstances of which price plays a very small part. No doubt sold properly it will go down well with Reform voters who want to live in the past.
Only an extremely heavy pub drinker would benefit - probably £2 a week. is this really their target above young families? if so we should welcome more policy announcements and publicise them.
I’ll save 50p on ten pints and won’t give a toss about my third or fourth child! 🤔
Don't interrupt your enemies while they are making a mistake... Or something
I reckon we’re 6 months off them announcing the smoking ban will be overturned to save pubs.
And what will he propose cutting to save the local butchers and bakers? Child benefit for anyone non British, pip for people that have no visible disability? Heck, scrap motability for any one that hasn’t lost minimum 2 limbs too keep price of ciggys down.
Let them drink keg
