- Last year, 185 people were killed on our roads in Ireland. Just shy of 70% of these were motorists or their passengers. In 2024, there were 77 recorded homicides. Half of these were victims of dangerous drivers. We should all take from this fiasco to turn the focus onto who is doing the killing.
- It might be worth reminding folks that (now, Deputy) O'Flynn had the lowest attendance at Cork City Council meetings — in the end, even frequently missing the committee he chaired. However, by some stroke of fortune, he was in attendance at this meeting — and raised no objection to the scheme.
