- Today is a day of celebration but the way in which those advocating for Palestinian liberation are treated by our compromised judicial system must not be forgotten. 18 of the Filton 24 are still held on remand after months of pre-trial detention. They must be released immediately.
- It's been exhausting, but i'm very happy that Reform's motion was effectively defeated this evening. It was incredible to see so many people come out to support the trans community in Bassetlaw. If you weren't able to be there, we posted updates on the meeting here ⬇️

- Reposted by Olive WelchSay hello to Hannah Spencer—councillor, plumber, greyhound lover and your Green Party candidate for Gorton and Denton 💚
- For those who missed this lecture, I'd highly recommend checking out the recording when it's available. It was so insightful and so engaging and the live posts absolutely do not do it justice (I can say that because I wrote them).
- Reposted by Olive WelchToday we mark #HolocaustMemorialDay. We commemorate the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust, as well as trans and Queer people, Roma people, disabled people and many more.
- 190,000 members in England & Wales and 200 of them are in Bassetlaw! Maybe we really are making hope normal again 💚

- Was thinking to myself that Zack is very good at doing the whole 'walking-and-talking' political broadcast thing, when he started RUNNING!? Genuinely did an excited little scream!
- There was a closeted girl in 2011 who was invited to an all-girls sleepover at her friend's house. It didn't matter that she slept on the floor whilst the other girls shared a bed. It meant everything to her to have been included. It took her 12 more years to come out. It shouldn't take so long.
- Join us on the 3rd of Feb to stand in solidarity with the trans community in Bassetlaw. We need as many people there as possible to stand up to Reform! Can't make it? Sign the open letter: you.38degrees.org.uk/p/trans-righ... *You can sign the open letter even if you are coming to the demo...

- Having recently left twitter, I decided to check how many accounts I had blocked. Over the past year, every time I encountered someone posting something racist, sexist, transphobic etc, I blocked them. Over 2,500 accounts. More than 9 times the number of accounts that I followed. Utter hell site.

- Please sign the petition. There is a real risk that, instead of rejecting the motion, the Bassetlaw District Council will amend the motion to water it down. This is not acceptable. A partial trans ban is still a trans ban. We need to stand up unequivocally for the trans community in Bassetlaw.
- An initial scan seems to suggest that it wasn't discriminatory of the Darlington Trust to allow a trans woman to use the women's facilities. But they should have provided alternative changing spaces for those who felt uncomfortable in the presence of a trans woman. This is a win, in my view.

- I wrote this petition and it would be really cool if you signed it.

- The fact that 22% of Green voters would be disappointed/angry if their child was trans is deeply disheartening. Being the *least* transphobic party simply isn't good enough. I am proud of our policies on trans rights, but clearly there is much more work still to be done.

- Reform councillors are once again trying to ban trans women from all council-run women's spaces, services & facilities in Bassetlaw. If passed, it would be the first motion of its kind implemented by a local council in the UK. This must be voted down. Please join us on the 3rd of Feb!

- The experience of being a trans woman in the UK is waking up each day to see which sport (or service/org) you've been newly banned from. We're so deep into a trans panic in this country that it doesn't seem to matter whether these bans are backed by any evidence (they are not).

- Update: the motion proposed by Reform, which sought to ban trans women from women's spaces, was ruled out of order because the councillor who had seconded the motion could not be bothered to show up to the meeting...

- The closure of the Tavistock Clinic has had a profoundly negative impact on trans youth & their families. The decision has cost lives. The fact that Maitlis is openly bragging about the role she played in gutting trans healthcare is utterly disgusting.

- This is the sad reality of being trans in the UK. The slow erosion of our rights has made it almost impossible for anyone in our community to put down permanent roots. I don't know a single trans person who hasn't thought about leaving the country or planned an emergency exit strategy.
- The EHRC's anti-trans guidance is evidently so problematic that even Bridget Phillipson is reluctant to approve it. Yet, here we have the Lib Dem Equality & Diversity spokesperson calling for its immediate implementation. If you care about trans rights, I am begging you to vote Green.

- Reposted by Olive WelchGender Identity Clinics are a segregating bottleneck to gender-affirming healthcare 🏥 An informed consent model of care is vital to tackle the backlog & deliver trans people health equity 🏳️⚧️ That’s why the Green Party will abolish GICs, funding & training GPs to care for trans people equitably 💚

- The Lib Dems have changed their internal selection rules *against the express wishes of their conference* to exclude trans people from gender-based diversity quotas! For those wondering whether the LD leadership would stand with the trans community, I think you have your answer.

- 🚨 Bridget Phillipson has revealed that the EHRC did not initially submit an equality impact assessment on their updated code of practice, which will ban trans people from gendered bathrooms, sports & groups. This is completely embarrassing from a supposed equalities regulator!
