Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm. The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him. Happy Black History Month.

- Valve’s Steam Machine has been delayed, and the RAM crisis will impact pricing. Valve is now aiming to launch its Steam Machine in the first half of 2026, rather than early 2026. How much will it cost, though? www.theverge.com/games/874196...

- Sitting here on 0.1PB calling myself an archivist... but also I'm entirely out of pocket on this. Gods even a single petabyte of storage would be a game changer. But also it would cost another ~10k for RAID0, assuming HDD (platter) prices don't also explode. That and solar power by 2030? Maybe.

- Reposted by RaptorICE has been holding a disabled double amputee named Rodney Taylor in a camp for a year. He’s been in the US since he was two years old. It’s all he knows. When they detained him, they denied him access to new prosthetic legs. His health is declining.

View full threadReposted by RaptorIt’s beyond cruel and unusual punishment. It’s ableism and eugenics. Rodney’s health is slipping away and he’s being denied reasonable accommodation and medical care. Never forget that the Nazis also targeted disabled people. They knew that few people would fight for us.
- Reposted by RaptorPlease speak up for Rodney. A year in an ICE camp is beyond comprehension. Public pressure works. If enough people speak up, a life may be saved. Many of the deaths in ICE custody have been due to medical neglect… let’s make sure Rodney isn’t one of them.
