- Damn that is fucked up.
- Have any of the ICE or CBP officers involved in the killings in MN even been fired or suspended? Like even that is way below the bar of what's needed.

- It's crazy that days later virtually no information has been released about the Border Patrol officers who murdered Alex Pretti. That doesn't happen in a democracy.
- Reposted by Jesse NovielloNeedless to say that Renee Good and Alex Pretti will go down as heroes here in Minnesota and nationally, their names synonymous with sacrifice and caring for vulnerable neighbors even at the risk of your own life. And hopefully no more innocent lives are lost.
- Reposted by Jesse NovielloMinneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."
- The Trump administrations reaction to the killing of Renee Good demonstrate that clearly that they are a fascist Regime even if they have not yet made us a fascist country. Read more here: open.substack.com/pub/fumblesa...

- Yesterday we saw the WH claim that Ashli Babbit was murdered in cold blood. Today we are told that a protester turning away from an officer was killed in self defense. Both of these are video tapes events that make these lies clear but the party goes along with them.

- Today Newsom signed Senate Bill 79 which will make it much easier to build housing around transit across the state. I have not always been a Newsom fan but this is big and a huge kudos to him. calmatters.org/housing/2025...

- It's crazy to see just how few principles Trump and those around him have. They spent a lot of time talking about defending free speech but now are doing more to undermine than anyone has done in decades.
- It's hard to imagine a more clear cut violation of the first amendment than the FCC threatening to pull licenses unless someone is fired and then the president saying no one on TV is allowed to criticize me. Yet we still have maga cultists trying to deny it.

- The past week has really cemented to me how bad algorithmic social media is. You are so heavily incentivised to post outrageous stuff because that is what gets engagement. This means you also end up seeing a ton of extreme views from the "other side" which further feeds radicalization.
- If you follow housing politics you will see a lot of people advocating to block the construction of new housing but you almost never see people advocating for them to be torn down. Most of the time if a controversial apartment building does get approved and built it just becomes part of the city.
- The murder of Charlie Kirk is horrific. However we also do not need to pretend like he was a moderate. If describing Leviticus 20:13 which calls for the execution of homosexuals, as "God's perfect law when it comes to sexual matters." Is a moderate position then we are truly fucked.

- The genocide in Gaza needs to end. Unfortunately, neither Trump nor Netenyahu care about Palestinians lives.
- This would have been an earthquake shattering scandal for any other President. Firing someone for accurately reporting data you don't like. Also we will no longer be able to trust information coming from the Government anymore which is part of the point.

- Congressional republicans' total submission to Trump is not surprising, but it represents a key breakdown in our constitutional order and the systems of checks and balances designed to protect our republic. I wrote about this here: fumblesandfilibusters.substack.com/p/unchecked-...
- Uhh... they are the ones cutting EPA regulations and gutting investments in clean energy. I don't know maybe... stop?
- Among many of the other absolutely horrible things the house bill would do is that it would devastate the Solar and storage and broader renewable energy. This would cost at least a quarter million jobs. Raise energy and gas prices for everyone and mean that more toxic pollutants are released.
- Wow we have fallen so far as a country.
- The sure volume of lies coming out of this administration is crazy but also has been totally normalized. I don't think a lot of people realize how abnormal it is.
- Republicans are going to kick 13.7 million people off of healthcare so that they can give massive tax cuts to the rich including Musk and Trump!

- In the late 80s Speaker Jim Wright was forced to resign after receiving bulk purchases of his book. This was considered beyond the pale and he was heavily criticized by the House ethics committee. Today Trump is set to receive a jet from the nation of Qatar. apnews.com/article/trum...

- Truly wild how many people Trump managed to win back by first proposing a super insane tariff plan and then walking it back to just insane tariff plan. Quite the gambit. fumblesandfilibusters.substack.com/p/donald-tru...
- This photo is perhaps the greatest explanation of our current moment and boy is it stupid
- Republicans in Congress could stop this madness at any time. They just have to stand up to Trump.
- We are likely living through the stupidest moment in history.
