This seemingly obvious step was blocked by the fossil fuel industry and oil-producing countries, which are vehemently opposed to climate protection as it threatens their business model.

In total, the decisions do not do justice to the climate crisis and the countries most threatened by climate change. This is not the emergency mode that would be an adequate response to the crisis. At least, renewable energy revolution is unstoppable and is supported by majority of the states.
