- When the actual experiments to generate the required data take longer than an hour, computing power stops being the bottleneck - getting data becomes the bottleneck. ML is great to go through a century's worth of existing data, but will not generate a century's worth of actual data in minutes.

- What is missing from this article is comparison data. For example, if most actual crashes happen on crossings, then roundabouts do a great job at avoiding a lot of those crashes. Turning crashes into near narrowly avoided crashes is a win. If that's not the case, we need to know as well.
