- And it's finally here! napari 0.6.0 is out on PyPI and conda-forge! 🥳 We've had a few threads about this release already but let's recap with some highlights: 🧵

- 0.6.0 features @liu-hanjin.bsky.social's command palette. It exposes all commands registered with the napari app-model (app-model.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) — including plugin commands! We now go to an exciting new phase for napari plugins — see discussion at github.com/napari/napar... for a teaser!
- Axis praxis! You can now point the depth, vertical, and horizontal axes any which way! We've fixed the handedness of the 3D view — DNA helices are again right-handed 😅, and if you have map data you can make latitude point north. Check out our new guide! napari.org/stable/guide...
- @czaki-pl.bsky.social has made huge improvements to the Shapes layer, supported by a grant to the Spatial Data team by @cziscience.bsky.social. We've launched a *fast* triangulation library written in Rust (called bermuda 😉), making Shapes up to 200x faster! Read more: napari.org/stable/guide...May 1, 2025 14:08
- There's lots more in the release, and lots more to come! Check the release notes here: napari.org/stable/relea... If you have any issues, or just want to show off your use case: we love to hear about it! Our open chat room: napari.zulipchat.com/login/ And meeting calendar: napari.org/stable/commu...
