I believe in what I was taught in AMERICAN PUBLIC schools. The Constitution rules us, not a king. No one is above the law. We have a first amendment that guarantees me freedom of speech and the press, voting rights, civil rights, and human rights. (h/t YS)
- I’m not reposting Trump’s latest obscene racism, because it’s widely posted. If you don’t know what it is, look. It’s not news in terms of telling us who he is—if you didn’t know this by now, you’re not going to—but the blunt openness of it is a rhetorically violent escalation, & that is news.

- I didn't speak to a family member for a couple of months after they casually dropped a racist slur about a powerful black person in a phone conversation. And I thought they knew better, being raised by the same parents.

- I want people to understand this. For many of them, democracy ended when Obama was elected twice and Black Lives Matter rose to prominence. This is them “fixing” a system that felt broken and newly unsafe to them.
