- Ah, the thrill of picking up a reservation from the library - placed so long ago that I can't remember why I wanted it. ❤️📚

- Good piece in today's Scotsman by @philip-ciwf.bsky.social - it is crowded industrial poultry systems we should be pointing fingers at. Lower density, higher welfare has got to become the norm. ❤️🐔 www.scotsman.com/news/opinion...

- 69 votes in favour of @markruskell.bsky.social's bill to ban greyhound racing at stage one. Woof woof! Taking a paws to celebrate this good news. 🐕
- Wonderful contributions to the stage one debate on @markruskell.bsky.social's bill to ban cruel greyhound racing from @ronamackaysnp.bsky.social @cgrahamemsp.bsky.social @maggiechapman.bsky.social @gillianmacmsp.bsky.social and @jimfairliesnp.bsky.social. Thank you for such thoughtful remarks ❤️🐶
- Listening to the Scot Parl stage one debate on banning cruel greyhound racing, really sad to hear Labour's Rhoda Grant describe the bill as a "luxury" she doesn't think Holyrood has time for. So glad a lot of her colleagues disagree and will support it, to stop dogs suffering in future. 😔🐾

- Reposted by Jason Rose👉 For dogs like Joy, and all other greyhounds, we have to put an end this cruel 'sport' - once and for all. ✍️ Please join over 2,000 people in using our e-action to write to your MSPs, asking them to back the Bill to ban greyhound racing. It takes just 2 mins🔗 secure.onekind.org/page/183003/...

- "It is the fourth such incident in the area since 18 December and tens of thousands of birds have already been destroyed." TENS OF THOUSANDS - each bird an individual with capacity for stress and pain. The reality of factory farming. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

- All is calm, all is bright, down at Musselburgh lagoons. Loads of lapwings, oystercatchers, wigeon, redshank and, er, pheasants. Curlew too. ❤️🦆
- You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you? (No conferring.)

- Highly recommend the photography exhibition at @seabirdcentre.bsky.social in North Berwick. On until February. You can vote for your favourite. I ❤️ razorbills.
- Fascinating piece, in which a merger between the BBC and Channel 4 doesn't seem outlandish. And I hadn't clocked that Ian Murray is now the media minister following his Scotland Office cancellation. www.ft.com/content/4110... via @FT

- Good to see BBC covering these concerns. Making money out of wild animals suffering is simply not on. Let's keep the pressure on - here's to compassionate Christmases. ❤️🦌 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- Reposted by Jason Rose🫶We can't thank you enough. 🙌 Incredibly, you raised a total of £11,773 (with Gift Aid) in the just one week-long Big Give Christmas Challenge - that's over our target amount! Thank you so much for your overwhelming generosity and compassion for animals🧡
- There's a great Toni Morrison quote: "Books are knowledge. Books are reflection. Books change your mind.” The picture shows some of the books I've read and enjoyed this year, and the full list is below (some not pictured were borrowed from my local library - yasss for libraries by the way).
- Sweet merciful heavens. I'm reading in a national newspaper that the "dye has been cast". Oh my eyes! 🎲

- Heartbreaking testimony in support of Mark's bill to ban greyhound racing. Let's hope MSPs follow the evidence and get this legislation over the line. ❤️🐕
- There are better ways to have fun in the run up to Christmas, without causing these beautiful gentle creatures psychological stress and physical fatigue. It's not too late for event organisers to do the right thing. ❤️🦌 news.stv.tv/scotland/ani...
- Checking out the @filmhouseedinburgh.bsky.social listings for later this month. Cookie settings for this one? Full of arsenic. 😁❤️🎬
- It would appear @eastlothiancouncil.bsky.social think the National Cycle Network in Musselburgh is an appropriate place to dump rubble. How odd. @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @edcriticalmass.bsky.social @shona-mcintosh.bsky.social
- So important to get animals' perspectives into media coverage of this issue - if you like what OneKind has been doing, do think about becoming a regular donor to keep powering our work. It's easy to join: www.onekind.org/join-onekind... ❤️🐶🐷🦅
- Remembered to take my "bins" on my way past Musselburgh lagoons today. Lots to see. Hundreds of lapwing, greylag geese and oystercatchers. Also a curlew or two, a heron, a swan, and in the distance, apparently, a ruff!
- Thanks to @emmaroddicksnp.bsky.social for raising the impact of fireworks on animals at First Minister's Questions. The delay to the licensing aspect of the Fireworks Act is hugely frustrating. The suffering animals continue to endure is deeply upsetting: www.onekind.org/blog/firewor...
- I don't know who signed off the stopping up order for the cycle path between Edinburgh Park and Hermiston Gait but their idea of an 'alternative route' leaves a lot to be desired! @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike #EdTravCyc

- 🚳Watch out if you like a cycle along Fisherrow Links in Musselburgh - the path from the Electric Bridge to the pumping station, past the skate ramp is closed to bikes due to Scottish Water works until mid-Dec. Easy alternative via New St. On foot, you can still get through. @spokes.org.uk

- Industry pushing back because it fears consumers knowing the reality. When a pig is being killed, CO2 painfully dissolves the membranes around its eyes, nose and mouth, then they experience breathlessness, causing them to gulp and panic. It's no way to treat another sentient being. ❤️🐷

- I appreciate "UK" is handy shorthand but of course we've had a ban on fracking in Scotland for some years. Both licensing and planning policy are devolved.
- Nothing to see here, just Big Ag lobbying the deputy FM to ignore expert advice on the climate crisis. Cool cool cool
- This is so sad to see. The Sula Sgeir guga hunt has happened. Up to 500 juvenile gannets bashed in the head, because "tradition". Inhumane and totally unnecessary in today's society. An outdated loophole in law that needs closed.
