Instead of mourning great art tainted by awful men, mourn the work we lost from their victims
Some sexual abusers made great art. Countless more of their victims never got the chance.
Moreover, many good people, mostly with marginalized identities, are driven out of their industries by the shitty people.
Just think of the art we could have gotten from them!

Usually that's the wrong answer. the right answer is usually that they removed themselves from a site of untrammeled disrespect, danger and abuse & those who minimized their concerns & enabled all the bad shit.
Enablers who think of themselves as "one of the good ones" are IMO the most crucial part of every deeply rotten system, and there are a lot of them, still, in every community, every hobby, every field.
I do not think many abusive personalities can change. I do think the culture of enabling can.
