Mustafa Mahmoud Mazeh, a Lebanese man, died in London on August 3, 1989. He was preparing a bomb to assassinate Salman Rushdie when it exploded prematurely. This came after Ayatollah Khomeini's fatwa against Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses.
