- Yes, quite. It's the biggest scandal of this administration, so far, probably. It's an average Tuesday under Johnson.

- There's something unnerving about someone who clearly wants power but not for any definable reason. McSweeney clearly has no great ambition to reshape the state - but he also doesn't seem to want personal glory, attention or fame, or he'd be more visible. He just wants to stop anyone else having it.

- I’m somewhat serious when I say time ripe for gutsy government to do sweeping modernisation of everything. New building for Parliament, savage restrictions on lobbying & revolving door, Lords reform. Coordinate radical slimming-down of royal family with King. Pluto to have planet status restored &c.
- this is vicious and correct www.economist.com/britain/2026...
- Really nuts how many men were like "Me Too went too far, and I need to email Jeffrey Epstein about it."

- Imagine.
- I don’t want to imagine. I’d like you to tell me!
- Let it be, mate.
- Thought I’d share this because it’s such a fantastic photo. Will explain more below. But basically it’s from an album found in a chazza. Look at these fellas.

- OK this makes me extremely angry. Has everyone forgotten the massive profiteering from thousands of avoidable pandemic deaths?? The unconstitutional suspension of parliament to force through an act of nationalist destruction that cost our children their future??
- There’s a v cynical media and political blindspot in the Epstein shitshow. A feeding frenzy to get rid of Starmer while red-carpeting Farage into No10. Who is named in the files. As is Candy, Reform’s treasurer. With Bannon. And Brexit. Don’t cry about abuses of power and then do nothing about him.

- as soon as you become a political correspondent in America they take you into a little room in the White House and hit you on the head with a mallet until you lose the ability to retain long-term memories.
- The little smirk he quickly hides after "for what?" tells you absolutely everything you need to know about everyone involved.

- EXACTLY. This is the question that UK journalists *should* be asking.

- Just a quick note to @greenparty.org.uk and @greenpartyhan.bsky.social - I was not consulted on being quoted on your leaflets and I have not endorsed your campaign (or any campaign in this seat). I think this note, like the bar chart next to it, is misleading and out of context.
- Distinct smell of nonce in the Norfolk gulag tonight.

- We moved house recently and I just want to sympathise with Andrew here, it really is one of the most stressful things you can go through in life, along with divorce, bereavement, and testifying to Congress under oath about a notorious paedophile ring in which you played a key part.
- one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

- Don't disagree with Alex Burghart here but slightly galling to hear the Tories asking for investigations into potential Russian assets
- In the 10s rich people were falling over themselves to become Russian assets.

- It is worth recalling that the position of U.K. Ambassador to the US was not vacant at the time the Prime Minister chose to appoint Peter Mandelson to the role. A highly competent and respected woman was replaced.
- I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.

- Now let's hear a correspondingly positive response from the UK government.
- Wes Streeting saying on Today that Mandelson is ‘not the man we thought he was’ but the trouble is, he is exactly the man we thought, just on a much worse scale than almost anyone thought. And there is an alternative world where none of this is this govt’s problem, because they never gave him a job
- Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, "10 years on from Brexit" "In a world that has changed so profoundly" "Europe and the the UK need a new way of working together" "It is time to exorcise the ghosts of the past" "Reset our partnership" "And find solutions together"

- hey remember when I got shit on for years for trying to warn people that GamerGate was just Nazis and not just about harassing women and not just about some “consumer revolt”

- No idea who told Neil Gaiman that right now would be a good time to drop his creepy attempt at self-justification, what with ALL THAT going on, hey trust me mate you’ll come across as a nice guy in comparison, but I have not seen such blind entitlement or low levels of room-reading since, well, ever
