Probably the biggest problem with being a game critic is you never hear what other people think of you

I reckon about once a month I think about how stupid it is that the PSVR2 doesn't play PSVR1 games
made a public Patreon post about some games I've been playing and where I've been/what my plans are

if you'll allow me to do this bsky wholesome self love thing here for a sec, I reckon I'm pretty alright at reviewing video games
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.
I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.
No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at
Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

out of desperation I tried the Pro Team multiplayer mode where people make teams with card packs and I only matched against people with maxed out amazing teams and they seemed to love to showboat while they slaughter my super weak starting squad. Here lies my AFL26 online career died as it lived
The AFL26 online is so low population that most of the time you match against the all time number 1 player on the leaderboards who has 900+ wins and about 50 losses and let me tell you it is not a fun experience playing that guy

Fully aware I'm preaching to the choir here but I just went on twitter out of morbid curiosity and good lord has it gone down the shitter. It's more or less a feed of people you should block lol. Or people quoting people you should block
I'm currently infatuated by video game novelisations/spin-off novels (high class reading). Like what's going on in the two Perfect Dark novels? Or the Runescape novels? I've always known about these but I must know more so I've acquired a bunch to read. more to come
I only knew of Vince Zampella through his work which massively shaped my taste in games. Allied Assault was an eye-opener for what was possible in video games for me, and his CoD games were so refined that their formula is evergreen 20 odd years on. What awful news to wake up to.
at least i managed to salvage my thoughts on the new skate
went to sell my xbox and when backing things up I discovered that almost every screenshot i've ever taken on it has been auto-deleted by microsoft after 90 days :) fuck this company man

DRIV3R was where gaming peaked
currently debating whether I give Expedition 33 another try as someone who found the combat boring. I could just mod out the combat but that feels shameful? I should be shamed for that, right? do I just cut my losses and not try play it again? this tweet is about as melodramatic as Expedition 33
Avatar 3 is good fun. I don't think it hits Avatar 1 magic for me (an Avatar 1 sicko), but it's a great time in its own way. I'm especially glad it focused way less on that annoying group of kids from 2. And it'll always be nice that Avatar is uncompromising in it's wholesome messaging and visuals
