- Hey @newsfromgoogle.bsky.social Any chance of an update/explanation as to why Google books has effectively stopped working? ls this just a temporary thing, or have you decided for whatever reason that you can't maintain the access we have all previously had and greatly benefitted from?
- Okay, so it's not just me! I've had two volumes of La Belle Assemblée open in tabs for ages and suddenly stopped being able to search inside them, like the OCR files went poof.

- Then yes, definitely petticoats underneath! Shift/smock next to the skin, then petticoats, then underdress/kirtle layer for torso shaping and being visible, then gown.
- (Unless later 16th century, then there may be a boned bodice separate from a skirt and no "underdress" layer at all.)
