i dont think "look back" should be a live action movie
i think what was so beautiful about it as an animated film is (this is gonna sound ironic) how real and visceral everything felt--from the characters, the emotions, the actions, the subtleties in movement. there is a certain whimsy that can only be captured through animated means
Jan 23, 2026 20:43im sure a live action movie would work...okay? but there's no way anything filmed would have the same kind of energy, passion, and rawness of this scene (dont mind my bootleg footage, i just loved it so much)
plus there's always a unique supernatural twist to fujimoto's one shot stories and i feel the impact that would have would just be lost in translation into live action
but thats just my opinion, i dont know why i started talking about this ^^;
