Sonic Movie 3's Shadow arc >>> SA2 Shadow arc
The idea of Shadow never getting to hear Maria's final words and literally being fueled by a mix of his own grief and Gerald being emotionally abusive, and paralleling that with a version of Sonic who has also experienced loss is actually so interesting
and I feel it's handled so much better in comparison to the simple 'he got his brain rewired' from SA2, and that's crazy given how different the movies handle elements from the games, this is one of the few instances where the movie literally EVOLVES the idea into something that makes it stronger.
I'm daring to praise the 2020s movie over the 2000s video game, guys! I must be crazy! 2020s can't be better! 2000s great! 2000s can't do no wrong! 2000s can't be improved upon!
Feb 3, 2026 00:12society isn't ready for the fact the 2020's have alot in common with the 2000's
