- I believe you have a White-faced Ibis here. The red eye is a way to differentiate those from the Glossy Ibis. The Green Ibis is found south of Honduras.

- They do look very similar! But the kookaburra are in the kingfisher family and the puffbirds are in the woodpecker family!

- The marina at Westport is really great for birding. In a month or so, the Common Loons will be in breeding plumage and you can see them up close. There's a nice population of Surf Scoters and the Pigeon Guillemots nest there. And there's the bonus King Eider that's been hanging out!
