Accounts trying to grow with doom posting, controversial imagery and other emotional manipulation. Often very low effort. Review before muting or blocking, includes some larger accounts that do this only occasionally.

Personally I'm using filters (including on alt text) to avoid seeing posts about topics that I don't want to see; but due to the lack of a "disable reposts" feature on here I'm still often encountering low-effort posts from accounts without alt text. Collecting these here for easy muting.

Facebook meme type accounts, participating in followback schemes. Resistance-flavored pablum. Either incipient bad actors, or super annoying, or both.

a mute list. originally for stuff like #nodemsunder10k and "resistance" accounts who do nothing but repost the same nonsense. now includes Democrat liberals/centrists willing to sell out the trans community for Buttigieg or Newsom or whoever.

Accounts that seem to be primarily interested in using the Trump administration to build themselves a large audience. Engagement bait, etc.

Some are ops and bots, most are probably real people. Regardless of intent, indiscriminate following provides cover for ops, disinformation, misinformation, scams, etc. which does real harm. Also includes those who I repeatedly observe following farmers, as that fuels the problem, too.
