I kept hearing how BlueSky was 'different' and where artists should move to, but after witnessing artists being banned, having content stolen, and learning about the massive bot and AI problem... I have a feeling BlueSky only seems good because Twitter became an absolute disaster. (Cont. >)
People have become so complacent with this modern dystopia where censorship and harassment are the name of the game, where echo chambers are the one and only form of communication we ever have. But as long as said censorship aligns with your particular view, who care right? (Cont. >)
I think people are really up for a rude awakening sooner rather than later, especially when BlueSky/Threads/whatever has to deal with the same bot problems, political pressures, and social echos that older platforms do. I think the only saving grace is the protocol, but that has it's own issues... >
This probably feels ironic to post on such a site and in this way, but it really does concern me with just how much we've given up as people, and as creatives. We shouldn't have to fear what will/won't get us banned when we're just trying to do what we love without any malice. (Cont. >)
A platform where a creative has to question if their work is 'allowed' on a platform that claims to be more open and friendly, is not a platform that's true and trustful. Unfortunately, all sites have become this way. I feel for creatives, know I appreciate your work, even if others don't. <3 =^-^=
