I’m curious when you guys first came across tgcf/mxtx’s works and what made you decide to read them? I love hearing others experiences!
Feb 3, 2026 21:31I was vaguely aware of mdzs though some artists I followed, and tried to read it back in 2019 I think? There were too many names and I wasn't used to the genre, so I dropped it after a few chapters. Then I met some friends who had read it, and they recommended I try again for a while,
until they literally forced me to watch the mdzs donghua a year ago, while explaining any confusing bits and answering my questions haha. I went home and started reading like there was no tomorrow. TGCF was the second and I went in blind, all I knew was that it was by the same author 🥹
Oh the names were very hard for me too, although I did have someone to help me out when I got confused. I was told things about tgcf before I read it, so it must have been very interesting going in blind!
The only thing one of my friends told me once I had already started it was to prepare myself emotionally for book 6...... I wasn't prepared
I saw a bunch of really cool cosplayers, which is how I think I came across it first. Then I saw and artist sell MXTX fanart that was so good that I bought it even though I wasn't familiar with the character or the story so I decided to change that! Forever happy that I did <3
