I don't know if you've got access to a library that will do interlibrary loan for you, but maybe that can help fill the gap.
A lot of the problem is that I don't have a University email account (and haven't for 20 years) so I can't even use the UC library search engines to find things let alone acquire them (run-of-the-mill public libraries don't carry the stuff I typically look for).
If I can't find something I need in the Biodiversity Heritage Library, it's not available to me. Paywalls for 75-year-old papers are still a thing, sadly.
