- Trump always seems to enjoy the cycle of activity in which he says/posts an outrageous thing, watches his staff scramble all day to come up w/ excuses ("You're the racist if you saw racism in his innocent post"), then step in & claim with no apology his responsibility. It's sadism towards his staff.

Swifts are especially endangered because so many chimneys now have chimney caps. Swifts return to the same nesting spot year after year.

- I advocated for the blogger Raif Badawi for years a decade ago. Saudi Arabia jailed him, whipped him in public, and refuses to let him travel even now a decade into his story (his wife and kids are in Canada). S.A. didn't approve of his posts, charged him with blasphemy. We're in Saudi Arabia now.

- Reposted by Mark AldrichSo, first of all, of course it was Trump. But even if they were telling the truth, "We give staffers who post videos of the Obamas as apes access to the agenda-setting, decree-sending, market-moving account of the president of the United States" is not the exculpatory statement they think it is.

- Good news! Orange County, NY, just south of where I live, is quite MAGA. When I lived there a few years ago, the difference between Ulster (where I lived & live now) & Orange counties was clear. Plenty of Ulster MAGA & J6ers, def., but O.C. man. So this happened: www.instagram.com/reel/DUbLg6P...

- Reposted by Mark AldrichI really wonder if there is a level of overt racism from the Trump Administration, whether rhetorical or as explicit basis for policy, that would get traditional media outlets like @nytimes.com and @washingtonpost.com and @cnn.com to say he’s being racist.
