Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham 🇬🇧 working on synthetic communities of the oak microbiota and Acute Oak Decline 🌳🦠🍄🟫. She/her 🇫🇷
- Do go and check out this tour de force by @alejandra1909.bsky.social and @jamesemcdonald.bsky.social where we isolated a HUGE number of microorganisms from the oak microbiome in the UK. Impressive work and talent from Ale!
- 🧵 1/ New preprint alert! From the FUTURE OAK project, led by the super talented @alejandra1909.bsky.social Large-scale culturing of the tree microbiome enables targeted disease suppression Here's what we found... 👇 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

- Go and check out the pre-print of the landscape-scale tree microbiome study from the Future Oak project. Huge amounts of efforts and talent went into this work, with a pinch of "this is crazy, but we can do it". Well done @jamesemcdonald.bsky.social @cenococcum.bsky.social et al. Thread below 👇

- I am a bit late, but very proud of the achievements of Dr. Hussain who was my first co-supervised PhD researcher and brilliantly passed his viva. Well done Usman for processing thousands of samples to bring some fascinating insights on the resilience of oak tree microbiomes.
- Thank you @evolvedbiofilm.bsky.social for such a great organisation and everyone for the fantastic discussions. I even managed to visit Amsterdam Microbe Museum before catching my train! Looking forward to hosting you, @sofiaifgomes.bsky.social and Xinming in Birmingham !
- It was a great day in Leiden today, with lots of cool science talks and future collaborations discussions. Thanks @evolvedbiofilm.bsky.social and team for organising this mini symposium, and looking forward to more discussions tomorrow

- Another great outcome for @jamesemcdonald.bsky.social's group with prizes for best talk and best poster with @alejandra1909.bsky.social 🥳🥳. Plus the next MMEG to be held in Birmingham! #MMEG2024
- It's so nice being back at #MMEG2024 in Southampton finally presenting the results of our study in insect-bacteria interactions @jamesemcdonald.bsky.social @gathomas12.bsky.social
