The first and most obvious thing is size: our projects can collect samples that are way larger and more diverse than is possible in a typical study, which results in more power to investigate methodological variation, generalizability, etc.
Partly because of their size, our projects also offer researchers the opportunity to design and execute what we call “spin-off” projects, which build upon the primary project by adding additional measures, hypotheses, analyses, etc.
Nov 6, 2023 22:08Our collaborative projects also offer unique opportunities for researchers at all career levels (from undergrads on up) to make new connections with others outside of their own labs/institutions, share methodological insights and best practices, and more. Being part of a community is fun!
