- I went to a local mesh coordination meeting today, expecting just like 6 or 7 other weird techie men with a niche hobby. About 50 people showed up representing a BROAD cross-section of our population, professions, and interests. We all decided we're going to build out a MeshCore deployment.

- Claude Cowork is not off to an auspicious start yet. It can't find enabled connectors for simple things like reading my calendar. Or I'll upload a PDF with my prompt and it'll say "I notice the file hasn't been uploaded to my working directory yet."
- Canceling my subscription to @todoist.com after being a paying customer for many years. "Pay extra for AI features you never asked for, or become a Todoist Pro Legacy subscriber and don't get new features ever again." There's a third option, and I just took it.
- For the most part the smart home stuff at CES 2026 seems like a bit of a nothing burger. Yeah, Matter adoption is picking up. That's good. IKEA gets high marks for making smart home tech accessible to people of working class means. But it seems like 2025 was another soft year for innovation.
- Slashdot suggests Americans have given up their love of pizza. I don't think that's true. Papa John's & Dominos enshittified American pizza. Mom & Pop shops stopped offering delivery. Good pizza became inconvenient.

- I never really found my “home” in ham radio. I tend to feel too much pressure from Elmers to adopt their favorite activities. Or my hearing loss disability conflicts with people not slowing down and speaking clearly on the radio. Maybe it’s just not for me. KI4OTK
- Three times this morning on my way to the pharmacy (riding a bicycle) I had cars flying up into the crosswalk to make a right turn when they had a red light. and I was in the crosswalk crossing. Stop BEFORE the crosswalk, dingus! not on top of it!
