Postdoc in the Lowell lab @harvardmed.bsky.social studying how the hypothalamus and brainstem regulate feeding, and what goes wrong when they don't. Dr. rer. nat. from @mdc-berlin.bsky.social.
- Happy to have contributed in a small way to this atlas of the paraventricular hypothalamus! I think this will be an amazing resource for everyone studying the PVH. Open access too! www.cell.com/cell-reports...

- Reposted by Elijah LowensteinEpstein’s economic power among academics was made possible by a capitalist system that makes higher education dependent on the charity economy rather than a public good supported by taxing the rich
- Reposted by Elijah LowensteinAs tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today. ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

If you want to do comp neuro, combine machine learning and awesome math to understand neural circuit activity, then come work with us! Bonn is such a cool place for neuroscience now, you don't want to miss out.

- Amazing postdoc opportunity in systems neuroscience with a great mentor! #NeuroJobs
- We are hiring a postdoc to work @istaresearch.bsky.social on an @erc.europa.eu funded project, investigating the control of behavior and physiology by the hypothalamus. Please apply and share! ist.ac.at/en/job/postd...

This year we lost 16 partners = $8.2K setback = 110 fewer dreams. 🎓 You can change that. 💸 Donate to open 110 new doors. givebutter.com/supportCL

- ARC-AgRP "hunger" neurons were found, very unexpectedly, to be inhibited by cognitively-processed sensory cues that anticipate ingestion of food. In this work, we asked are ARC-AgRP neurons also regulated by cues that signal the absence of food and thus able to predict future energy deficit?

- Reposted by Elijah LowensteinRFK Jr. said multiple times during his house and senate hearings today that no scientists have been fired from federal agencies. Our reporting has shown that hundreds, if not thousands, of scientists have been let go from NIH/CDC/FDA

- Congrats Elisa and Niccolò! Very glad to have contributed to this project in a small way and happy to see the preprint. Check it out if you're interested in looong projecting spinal neurons and their role in movement! Lots of cool rabies tracing, spinal circuits and skilled locomotor behavior
- 🥁 Elisa Toscano idenitified a new subtype of propriospinal neurons and found a role in the execution of skilled movements🤸♂️. Great job from Elisa and everybody involved 💪. @alesantuz.bsky.social, @lowensteined.bsky.social. Check it out and let us know what you think: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
