- In a recent collaborative study, analyzing >10,000 deliveries, we found epidural use during labor to vary with the midwife: lower use with more experience and - interestingly - also with greater concern about epidural risks, especially among first-time mothers. #perceptions #healthcare #obstetrics

- A couple of weeks ago, our lab meeting involved watercolors, brushes and canvas. We put on some jazz music and painted, while chatting and snacking (fresh fruits, vegetables, and some zaatar pitas :)). Really enjoyed it. Felt like an unexpectedly powerful mental reset. #beliefslab
- Honored to be invited by #gethelpisrael to deliver a spotlight session at the #SomaticIntelligence Conference. I shared our lab’s work on mental processes as active regulators of physiology & physical health. An inspiring gathering bridging #mind and #body. #beliefslab #SeaView
- Reposted by Liron RozenkrantzThe goal of a PhD is not to learn some facts or read a few papers or learn a bunch of techniques. The goal of a PhD is to learn independence, problem solving, how to finish things you start, resilience, & gain the ability to adapt & think creatively. Learning these things is hard.
- A huge milestone for the lab, and for me personally! Thank you Israel Science Foundation #ISF for supporting our research on #nocebo effects in everyday life. We'll examine how health perceptions causally shape physical health outcomes, and study the physiological mechanisms involved. #beliefslab
- Couldn't recommend more!
- ‼️🚨 postdoc position 🚨‼️ I am looking for a postdoc in psychoneuroimmunology - come join our group to work on sickness behavior in humans 🤒🦠 at Karolinska Institutet @ki.se !! ki.varbi.com/en/what:job/... deadline July 31st @pnirs.bsky.social #neuroskyence #PsychSciSky #interoception

- In psychotherapy, treatment expectations matter. But even more powerful? ➡️ How they change over time. Our new paper shows that updating expectations during psychotherapy for MDD predicts depression outcomes. 🔗 www.tandfonline.com/eprint/WRBWU... #depression #psychotherapy #beliefupdating
- Most research focuses on baseline expectancy: patients' initial belief that therapy will help - a major predictor of therapy outcome. But expectancies aren't fixed. They can shift over time. We asked: Do these within-person changes in expectancy predict treatment success?
- Super excited to arrive in Bordeaux for the first time to attend #PNIRS2025 for the first time! :) @pnirs.bsky.social #beliefslab #PsycoNeuroImmunology
- Consider reading this beautiful piece by the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT @mit.edu about our new paper on remote mindfulness in autistic adults, co-led with the amazing John Gabrieli and team, and with Cindy Li as a gifted first author. mcgovern.mit.edu/2025/04/28/d...
- Crazy concluding talk by Ivan de Araujo about the role of the central amygdala in regulating the vagal nerve in response to stress. It causes altered immunity through inhibition of mucosal secretion in the gut!! Absolutely fascinating to reveal the mechanisms stress's impact on immunity! #mbb2025
- So cool to see this important preprint and then get to hear @micahgallen.com presents these fascinating results at #mbb! A pharmacological manipulation of cardiac activity alters interoception. Super important step into causality and mechanisms! Congrats 🎉
- Can we enhance interoception by controlling the heart? Thrilled to share our new study, led by @ashleytyrer.bsky.social , where we use computational modeling to show that blockading peripheral noradrenaline uniquely alters awareness of heart rate & breathing! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... 🧵👇

- Mind blowing presentation by @gogolla.bsky.social about the insula and cardiac tuning. Fascinating! #mbb2025
- Amazing talk by @danielklug.bsky.social about the causal relationship between respiration/breathing and autonomic arousal as measured by pupil dilation! #MindBrainBody symposium
- #MindBrainBody symposium starting strong with a fascinating keynote lecture by @torwager.bsky.social followed by a session about brain body coupling and regulation, including brain-stomach, brain-respiration and brain-cardiac interactions. So happy to finally get here (despite cancelled flight..)
- Can't wait to get there!!! #MindBrainBody
- 🕒 less than 24h until the doors to the 12th #MindBrainBody Symposium will open. Safe travels and very much looking forward to seeing you there! Please check out day 1 below and find all details at mindbrainbody.de
- I am super excited and honored to be named an APS Rising Star by @psychscience.bsky.social!! 🌟 So grateful to my mentors, nominators, and colleagues, and excited to continue advancing research at the intersection of psychology, biology and human health! #beliefslab #APS2025RisingStars
- Congratulations to the newest class of APS Rising Stars ⭐! www.psychologicalscience.org/members/awar...
- Difficult times make us appreciate what's around us.. We took a day out of the lab to enjoy Safed, right outside our door, its ancient history, delicious food & fascinating people. A special thanks to @shanikitours for an unforgettable experience! #beliefslab #DayOut #Thankful
- I haven't been to the #isfn Israeli society for neuroscience since my PhD. Really enjoyed returning as a PI and enjoying the wonderful science that's done here!! #beliefslab
- Lab's first published paper!! 🚨 We introduce Perceived Immunity (PI) - a new construct capturing perceived immune efficacy. Using a novel scale, we show that PI prospectively predicts physical symptoms up to 14 months later, beyond baseline symptoms. Why is this important? Read on… 🧵
