- My attempt to be helpful (while also carrying this out as an experiment myself) Anyone who needs a change should fill out form DS-5504, 2009-2017.state.gov/documents/or... It's free (unless you need it expedited) but it'll probably be slow. I'm filling mine out today and will update throughout
- Update on this! The government sent a letter that my partner had to sign confirming he was in the 'affected class' of people. So the process is taking a little extra time (for them to mail it to us and send it back) but is moving smoothly!Jul 23, 2025 22:22
- New passport has arrived! Everything was easy, the only stop-point was the letter, which you may be able to submit along with the original application and get everything done even faster.
