- Finally met @liammcilvanney.bsky.social last night after many online discussions about the important issues in life, 'What's the best Killie strip?' 'Is a roll and square sausage nothing without brown sauce?' I bought this too, part of a Scots crime lit' lineage that starts with the murder ballads?
- Great to finally meet, Bert, and put a face to the avatar. Hope you enjoy the book…!
- I've no doubt I will, Liam. I loved 'All The Colours of the Town' and 'Where The Dead Men Go' I've got two on the go presently, Alys Fowler's 'Peatlands' and Jonathan Wilson's 'Angels With Dirty Faces' (a football and sometime social history of Argentina). After those, it's Rutherford of Fairlie.😀
- Excellent!!Aug 1, 2025 08:08
- It's just struck me that the English lit professor on my first year at Aberdeen was called Rutherford( though not Gordon). I take it he would be long gone by your own time, Liam?
- Yes, but possibly a subliminal reference there…!
