ICE Arrests in World Cup Host Cities:
Between January and October 2025, ICE carried out over 90,000 arrests across the 11 U.S. World Cup host cities, with over 20,000 arrests in the Miami area alone.

It’s really interesting that national/international media has covered so much more the arrests in LA & NYC among these cities than Miami, Houston, Dallas, which had the highest number of arrests by ICE. I know NYC is global media capital, but I still have seen minimal coverage on those other cities.

We found, during researching, that local news outlets in those cities (eg. Houston Chronicle) do report on ICE activity quite regularly but major news outlets focussed their attention on NYC and LA.
