This is so stupid but I can’t quite believe how sad I feel about Catherine O’Hara’s death. I never get like this over celebrities… I didn’t know them and it doesn’t change my life that they’re gone but this one has hit me
I think it’s because what I saw of her was this amazing successful reappearance to mainstream success later in life and it felt like a huge win for overlooked comedy actresses to one day be appreciated the way they always should have been
Jan 31, 2026 16:07It’s pure projection, and gross to make a strangers life and death something of my own imagination but that’s what parasociality and celebrity does. But I felt like she was a beacon of comedy, proper success and feminism and I wish we’d had another two decades of her roles at least
She deserved it. Anyway. I hope she’s at peace and the people who actually knew her have love. She was brilliance itself. Brilliance
